Gavamedia’s Hotel Booking uses iCal synchronization, allowing your website and platforms like Airbnb to share booking information easily. Here’s a simple, step-by-step guide to syncing your bookings:
Step 1: Export your Website Calendar to Airbnb
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Go to Bookings → Sync Calendars.
- You’ll see a list of accommodations with unique calendar URLs under the Export column.
- Copy the URL for each accommodation.
- Log in to your Airbnb account and import these links.
Step 2: Import Airbnb Calendar to Your Website
- In your Airbnb account, locate the calendar URL for each accommodation.
- Return to your WordPress dashboard: Bookings → Sync Calendars.
- Hover over the accommodation you want to edit and click Edit.
- Click Add New Calendar, paste the Airbnb URL, and then click Update.
Important Notes
- Delays: Synchronization isn’t instant. Updates can take from 15 minutes up to a few hours.
- First Booking Requirement: Airbnb might reject calendar URLs without bookings. If this happens, add at least one booking on your site, then try again.
- Maintenance Mode: Ensure your website is not in maintenance mode when syncing calendars.
- Fake Bookings: Occasionally, Airbnb sends placeholder bookings to reflect booking rules. These will be automatically removed by your website once Airbnb stops sending them.
With these steps, your bookings will seamlessly update between your website and Airbnb, helping you avoid overbooking and manage your accommodations effortlessly.
